original band "MyFathers Place" LI ny 1974 - great story of the original band with Steve Miller :::

My friends were late for an 8PM show at "My Fathers Place" in Roslyn On Long Island. One in particular, was particularly pessed that we were late and the only available seats were in the first row stage side.

WE decided to sit in the seats apperntly held for the road crew but they were cool about it and let us stay. We were rolling joints and oassed some to the band and road crew to show our appreciation.

Steve MIller got the house bar to set up a tray of ice with unlimited Hinekens which the band passed down to us in apprectiation for the joints. They also let us stay as thier personal guests for the late show. We had a GREAT time and this is still as fond a memory as being at the Fillmore East for the Allman Borthers in 1971. Thanks for the memories and sorry for the passing of Dru.
